GLENVIEW, Ill. – The Awards and Recognition Association (ARA) today revealed the top 10 finalists for its annual sportsmanship award (www.arasportsmanshipaward.com), given to one outstanding NCAA Division I collegiate football player who best personifies the spirit of sportsmanship. On that list for the second year in a row is senior quarterback Tim Hiller.

Maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, quarterback and Orrville, Ohio native, Hiller completed his undergraduate degree in three years, is pursuing his MBA and serves as a tutor and leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

He entered the 2009 campaign as the program leader in passing completions, attempts, yards, TDs, total offense and total offensive plays in a season, and pass attempts, completions and yards in a game.  So far this year he has broken the program marks for career passing TDs and completions and is nearly four percentage points ahead of second place in career completion percentage.

The 2009 Sportsmanship Award recipient will be chosen from one of these 10 finalists and announced this December.  Finalists are represented from a variety of schools of all sizes throughout the United States from West Virginia and Kansas to Indiana and Illinois.
