Dowagiac Public Safety Director Tom Atkinson reports his department made an arrest in connection with a larceny incident that occurred earlier this year at the Marathon gas station on Spruce Street.

City police took a report in July of a larceny of a wallet and money that occurred at the Marathon gas station.

Through investigation, officers identified a suspect and sought a warrant.

In late September a felony warrant was issued by the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office for the suspect.

On Thursday, Oct. 15, at approximately 9 p.m., police arrested Brandon Michael Douglas 18, who turned himself in to police on charges of larceny in a building and larceny over $200 but less than $10,000.

Douglas was lodged in Cassopolis at the Cass County Jail, where he posted bond and was released with a late October court date.
