COMSTOCK – The Dowagiac boys and girls cross country teams were swept by Allegan, Comstock, Otsego and Vicksburg at the Wolverine Conference Mini-Jamoboree.

In the boys’ portion of the meet, Allegan defeated Dowagiac 25-36, host Comstock defeated Dowagiac 25-30, Otsego defeated Dowagiac 15-48 and Vicksburg defeated Dowagiac 15-48.

Mark Beams of Vicksburg was the overall winner with a time of 16:32.82.

The Chieftains’ top finisher was Kasey Proshwitz, who finished 13th with a time of 18:16.8.

Chris Gantt was 14th (18:18.45), Jason Turner 45th (22:22.45), Ryan Daly 48th (22:44.01), Brandon Wilson 49th (22:58.03) and Tyler Cross 51st (23:51).

In the girls’ race, Allegan, Otsego and Vicksburg defeated Dowagiac 15-50, while Comstock scored a 15-42 victory.

Taylor Smith of Otsego grabbed first place with a time of 19:14.24.

Leana Allen was 38th (25:39.62), Kelsey Cleveland 39th (26:07.85), Kristina Bunn 40th (27:14.35), Samantha Mathews 43rd (27:43.98), Kayla Yakim 46th (29:28.7), Marissa Tidey 47th (29:31.6), Rebecca Luth 48th (29:42.5). Corinne Kasper 49th (32:21.76), Sarah Hassle 50th (34:32.5) and Rebecca Hassle 51st (34:44.20).
