It was a busy week last week for the Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce in Niles.  The Chamber had a full week of welcoming new members and celebrated two grand openings.

Those businesses included:

David Miller, State Farm Insurance
1011 Broadway, Niles
683-2562
Miller has been with State Farm Insurance for a year and a half, bringing with him experience in retirement planning and life insurance. The Lakeshore High School graduate is serving the Niles area from a very familiar place – the office of former State Farm agent Mel Bookout. Though the office is nestled amongst a well established base of clients who, Miller said, “are very loyal to who the Bookouts are,” he is looking forward to continuing business and bringing in new clients. Miller has three other agents working out of the office each holding to State Farm’s mission, he said, “to help people plan for success in their life.”

Marie and Company Hair Studio
and Designs
110 S. 11th Street
683-4744
One of the chamber’s new members includes Marie Kujawski’s full service salon, which she has owned and operated out of Niles for the last 20 years. Kujawski brought her business over to the City of Four Flags originally from South Bend and said the clients she gained when she moved here all that time ago “just kept us going” over time. The salon just recently began offering pedicures by specialist Marinda Schultz and other services include style, cut, waxing, color and designer color by Kujawski’s team of stylists: Stacey Rockwell, Valarie Kachur and Cindy Pressnall. Kujawski keeps her salon open six days a week, accepts new clients and walk-ins.

Putnam Appraisal Services Inc.
683-3818
Jeff Putnam got his start in the real estate business in 1976, shifting his focus in 1988 to appraisals, which he has continued to do for 21 years now. Putnam assists clients with appraisals for mortgages and tax appeals and also works with attorneys for the sometimes necessary expert witness testimony. Working with the general public, Putnam said he can help in determining market value for possible sale, aspects of estate or even consultation on what potential sellers can expect of the current market.

Carefree Carpet Cleaning
(269) 362-7515
Steve Rutherford is a busy man. Owner and operator of Carefree Carpet Cleaning, Rutherford is busy traveling through southwest Michigan and norther Indiana offering residential and commercial carpet cleaning services. Carefree can also provide upholstery cleaning and Rutherford is equipped and available for apartment or empty rental cleaning as well. In business for the past four years with Carefree, Rutherford brings with him 10 years of experience in carpet cleaning.

The chamber also welcomed City Delivery Service, which was unavailable for comment by press time. To learn more about these businesses or any of the members of the Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce, visit www.nilesmi.com.
