Unconventional, one might think, upon the sight of this band of siblings that is Jypsi – make no mistake about the music, it is a delicate blend of traditional country sound and genuine, original lyrics.

The band which, according to its website, hails from the Lower Broadway region of Nashville with “generally traditional ranks” snagged a mention as one of County Music Television’s top 10 albums of 2008.

Their latest single “Mr. Officer” is available on iTunes. They are one of Nashville’s up and coming country bands – and they’re coming to Niles.

Jypsi will host the last Summer Concert of the season at the Riverfront Amphitheater on Sunday. The series has delighted audiences once again since June.

The final concert will feature an opening performance by Round Mountain starting at 6 p.m.
Brother and sisters Frank, Lillie Mae, Scarlett and Amber-Dawn, are originally from Illinois.
According to the band’s site, the L.A. Times has said Jypsi’s live shows consist of “goose bump-inducing vocalizing and mesmerizing performance chemistry.”

Each of the siblings boast years of instrumental and musical experience, dating back to their respective childhoods of various sounds including the fiddle, guitar, mandolin and vocals.
The band has spent plenty of time touring and participating in various live performances and festivals.

Following Round Mountain, Jypsi will take the stage at the Riverfront Amphitheater Sunday night at 7 p.m.
