Two arrested after search on Spansail Drive

Arrested Friday, after a three-month long investigation into illegal narcotic activity were Andy Le Duong, 21, 306 Roberts St. Niles, and Amy Mae Harpole, Female, 30, 2117 Spansail Dr. Niles.

On Friday, Aug. 21, at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Berrien County Sheriff Department’s Narcotics Unit with assistance from the Berrien County Sheriff Department’s Niles Township Road Patrol executed a search warrant for illegal narcotics at 2117 Spansail Drive, following a long investigation.

At the time of the search warrant execution, the officers located Harpole and Le Duong inside of the residence. Also located inside of the residence was a 51-year-old female and two children.

During a search of the residence, the officers located and seized approximately $4,000 worth of marijuana as well as other pieces of evidence of illegal narcotic trafficking and illegal narcotic activity.

Le Duong was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver second offense, maintaining a drug house second offense and probation violation.

harpole was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver.

The officers also seized a 2005 Mercedes-Benz under the State of Michigan’s Civil Forfeiture Law.

The two children were turned over to the custody of family members. The 51-year-old female was released at this time, with possible criminal charges being sought against her through the Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office.

Both Harpole and Duong were lodged at the Berrien County Jail pending their arraignments in the Berrien County Trial Courts.
