The breakfast and lunch program will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Enrollment Information
All elementary buildings are open for registration from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. New middle school and high school students may register between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the appropriate building. For more information, call the individual school building.

Transportation
Postcards with bus stop information will be mailed to students beginning the week of Aug. 24. Additionally, the bus stops will be posted at www.nilesschools.org.

Immunization Requirements
All new enrollees in the Niles Community Schools must meet current Michigan Department of Health immunization requirements before they begin school. They should bring a copy of their immunization record when enrolling. Students will be excluded from attendance on the first day of school if immunizations are not up to date.

All Elementary
Students will receive notification of teacher and room assignments the week of Aug. 31.  Notification as to whether a kindergarten child is to attend morning or afternoon will be made during the week of Aug. 24.

All Kindergarten
Kindergarten orientation for morning (a.m.) students is Sept. 8, at 9 a.m. Orientation for afternoon (p.m.) will be at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8. Orientation is for students and parents/guardians.

Northside

Kindergarten orientation for morning (a.m.) students is Sept. 8, at 9 a.m. Orientation for afternoon (p.m.) will be at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8.

Special Education orientation for morning (a.m.) students is Sept. 8, at 8:30 a.m. Orientation for afternoon (p.m.) will be at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 8.

Head Start and Early Learners
Early Learners orientation for morning (a.m.) students is 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 14. Orientation for afternoon (p.m.) will be Sept. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Head Start orientation is Sept. 14, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Seventh Grade Orientation
Orientation for all seventh grade students will be held at Ring Lardner Middle School, in the cafeteria, on Aug. 24 and 25 at 7 p.m. Seventh grade students with last names beginning A-L will attend on Aug. 24, while seventh grade students with last names beginning M-Z will attend on August 25th. All eighth grade students who are new to the Niles Community School District should attend the Aug. 25 session. If assigned orientation night needs to be changed, please call the office.

Ninth Grade Orientation
Orientation for all ninth grade students and newly enrolled students will be Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Enrollment forms have been mailed to freshmen and they must bring this form with them to orientation.

Eighth Grade Schedules
Schedules will be available at the Middle School office on Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enrollment forms have been mailed to students and they must bring these forms with them in order to pick up their schedule.

Tenth, 11th, and 12th Grade Schedules and Parking Permits
Schedules and Parking Permits will be available at the High School office on Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Enrollment forms have been mailed to students and they must bring these forms with them in order to pick up their schedule.

Adult Education Enrollment
Niles Adult Education enrollment begins on Aug. 24, from 4 to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday in the Niles Community Schools Administrative Center, 111 Spruce St. – 2nd floor. Call 684-4480 for more information.
Classes will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The first GED test sessions will be Tuesday, Sept. 22, and Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
