The Buchanan soccer team defeated host Niles 2-1 in the championship match of the VanDenBerg Invitational on Saturday.

Marquis Tyler and Brent Brown both scored for the Bucks, who had seven shots on goal.

Buchanan reached the title game by defeating Brandywine 6-2.

Ryan Catalano had a hat trick for the Bucks, while Richie Reed had two goals and Brent Brown scored the other as Buchanan improved to 2-1 on the year.

Niles advanced to the championship match with a win over Cassopolis.
