National champion Florida, along with Top 25 powers such as LSU, Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss will be prominent in the TV-46 college football schedule this year.
For the third consecutive season, WHME will air the “SEC Game of the Week” each Saturday at noon.
“As we already saw from this year’s media day, no football conference in the nation has the drama and intrigue of the SEC” says WHME sports director Chuck Freeby. “There are so many personalities, not to mention outstanding teams, that every game is a true event.”
The South Bend station will once again air 13 games. Each Saturday’s coverage will begin with “SEC Football Today” at noon, followed by kickoff at 12:30.
Coverage begins with Western Kentucky at Tennessee on September 5th, in Lane Kiffin’s debut as the Vols’ head coach. The following week, national champion Florida and Heisman candidate Tim Tebow face Troy. Games will be posted on the station’s website (www.whme.com) as they are slated.
Several preseason polls have five SEC teams ranked in the top 25 of the country. College football’s last three national champions have been SEC squads.
