The Dowagiac junior varsity girls' basketball team defeated visiting Plainwell Monday night 49-39.
Correshia Rodgers led the Chieftains with 20 points, while Roberta Payne added 16, many off assists from Rodgers.
In the freshmen contest, Dowagiac was defeated by the Lady Trojans 47-38.
Jacoya Brookins led Dowagiac with 12 points. Regina Kennedy and Carly Polomcak scored eight and seven points respectively for the Chieftains.
