EAU CLAIRE – David Ross Dewey, 66, of Berrien Center, died Sunday morning, Dec. 7, 2008, at home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire, with visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and the funeral service at 4 p.m.
Pastor Jack Midkiff of Grace Apostolic Church, Decatur, will officiate.
Private burial will be in Union Cemetery, Berrien Center.
Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice at Home.
David was born on Feb. 22, 1942, in Dowagiac, the son of Douglas and Audrey (Barnes) Dewey.
He had worked in the die cast industry, as well as for Michigan Power Co.
He also served with the Eau Claire Police Department and as a volunteer with the Pipestone-Berrien Townships-Eau Claire Fire Department.
Survivors include: his wife, the former Karen McCollum; three daughters, Linda (Frank) Anders of Berrien Center, Maria (Doc) Savage of Texas and Sandra (Charles) Kemp of Niles; two sons, Kenneth (Julie) Dewey of Dowagiac and Andrew Hudson of Florida; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; his mother, Audrey Kebschull of South Bend, Ind.; three sisters,Gaylynn Papoi and Kelly Crawford of O'Brien, Fla., and Pat Riley of Lake City, Fla.; his half-brother, Dale Newman of Benton Harbor; and three step-brothers, Joe Kebschull of South Bend, Max Kebschull of Kalamazoo and Rodney Fosdick of Mattawan.
David was preceded in death by his father and by a son, Frederick Hudson.
