To the editor:
I would like to thank all of the wonderful medical personnel in our community for the outstanding care I received Thanksgiving week.
While I was preparing to leave for a mountain climbing expedition, I came down with a severe pain in my side.
I went to the Lee Memorial Medical Group walk-in clinic.
Just as advertised, I saw a physician within 15 minutes.
His diagnosis was that I probably had acute appendicitis.
I was immediately sent across the street to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, where I was admitted directly through the emergency room. Again, the medical care I received and the customer service was extraordinary.
In the next four hours I had laboratory tests, a CT scan and an emergency appendectomy by Dr. Patel. I am so thankful that we have such high-quality medical care and facilities in our community.
