The Dowagiac Middle School eighth grade Black team defeated Lakeshore Monday night 40-35.
Dontel Highsmith led all scorers with 21 points, while Brendon Murray added nine points.
Dowagiac also got six points from D.J. Hunt and two points each from Tyler Clark and Joe Pasternak.
Dowagiac will travel to Niles on Thursday to face Ring Lardner.
The seventh grade Orange team also was a winner Monday night as it defeated the Lancers 28-24.
Davion Highsmith led all scorers with 18 points.
Aaron Adams was the leading rebounder for the Chieftains, who take on Niles on Thursday.
