CENTREVILLE – The Cassopolis varsity volleyball team's season came to an end Wednesday night as it was eliminated in the Class C District Tournament semifinals.
The Lady Rangers were defeated by Marcellus at Centreville High School 25-19, 25-17 and 25-8.
"Our overall record does not show a successful season, but I feel that we improved a great deal and I enjoyed the season," Cassopolis coach Erica Boulanger said.
"Strong net play by Reva Ivens, Kristen Fitzsimons, Athena Hatcher and Kasey Fosdick was not enough against Marcellus's hitters," she added.
Fosdick had four kills for the Lady Rangers, who also got four kills from Ivens and one kill each from Hatcher, Brooke Lindley and Fitzsimmons.
Fitzsimons also had a block and several touches according to Boulanger.
Defensively, Cassopolis was led by Jessica Biek, Ivens, Emily Hartsel and Courtnee Foster.
