To the editor:
Voters in the 78th Michigan House District have an opportunity Nov. 4 to elect a candidate who will go to Lansing committed to representing the interests of all citizens. Judy Truesdell is a person of high integrity who stands up for what is right and fair and not just the interests of a few. Judy recognizes that for Michigan to grow new non-exportable jobs we must take serious steps to diversify our manufacturing base. That's why she advocates development of new technologies that will move Michigan to a new, smarter energy future, protect our environment and create thousands of new jobs. She recognizes that Michigan is in a unique position to become a leader in the manufacture and use of renewable energy technology. We already have the manufacturing capability and the skilled workforce to make it happen. Building new industries not dependent on the auto industry will greatly improve Michigan's economy while protecting its environment. It will take strong leadership and a willingness to work in a bipartisan fashion to accomplish these very reachable goals. Judy has received the endorsement of the United Steelworkers, District 2, among other organizations representing workers, because she understands that and is committed to building a strong economy that will also protect our environment and lead to energy independence. I urge you to vote for a more prosperous, cleaner and safer Michigan by supporting Judy Truesdell Nov. 4.
