NILES – The Niles freshmen boys' basketball team knocked off visiting Marshall Tuesday night, 53-43.
The Vikings were led by Jordan Potthoff's 10 points.
Niles also got eight points from Trey Nichols, Nick Lucero and Montrell Merritt.
Zak Prenkert added seven points.
"As the scorers indicate, we were very balanced offensively today," Niles coach Josh Bourne said. "In fact, all but four of our players scored, so we really shared the ball well and offensively got the ball up and down the floor nicely.
"Defensively we were outstanding in the first half, running a half-court man and holding Marshall to only 14 points. Our team goal for any game is to hold our opponents to 30 points or less," Bourne added.
