NILES – Hayley Cashier of Buchanan and Terrance Eppenger of Niles have been named the Leader Publications Athletes of the Week for the Niles Daily Star.
Cashier had a combined 26 points and 24 rebounds as the Lady Bucks split a pair of games against Bridgman and Galesburg-Augusta.
Eppenger went 4-0 at the Grant tournament on Saturday to help the Viking wrestling team bring home the championship.
Against Allegan and Hamilton, Eppenger came away a winner in both matches.
Each week one boy and one girl will be selected as the Athlete of the Week.
The athletes are selected from nominations from their coaches.
