NILES – The all new Second Street Gallery – located exactly where its name says, inside The Gallery on Second Street – hopes to enrich the community with its presence and educate residents about art.
Something that makes the gallery stand out is the fact that it offers fine art and unique gifts made by artists right here in our hometown.
"We have paintings, ceramics, acrylics, greeting cards and even ornaments, all made by local artists," Kari Black, of the gallery said.
Black has been an artist for eight years and hopes to eventually interest the community in art as classes will be offered in the future.
People walking or driving down Second Street will often notice one of the many artists at work as a station has been set up right next to the front window to let people see how the art comes to life.
"You will almost always see someone in the window working. That is another thing that makes this store unique," Black said.
She added that now is the perfect time to buy someone a holiday gift from the gallery, as 10 percent coupons are being handed out now through December.
"Our community has a lot of talent and it's all here to see. We hope to see people down here," Black added.
The gallery's hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday's from noon to 5 p.m.
