MHSAA announces finals broadcast plans

EAST LANSING – Finals of Michigan High School Athletic Association Tournaments in girls volleyball and football will reach viewing and listening audiences this month through the MHSAA Internet Broadcast Network, and the Association's television partner, FSN Detroit.
All of the Girls Volleyball Semifinal and Final matches from Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek, Nov. 15-17, will be available for listening audiences on the MHSAA Internet Broadcast Network – – on a live basis, and the broadcasts will also be archived for on-demand listening.
For fans unable to attend the Girls Volleyball Finals wishing enhanced coverage, live video of the championship matches on Nov. 17 will be available at on pay-per-view basis.
The video will be the full MHSAA-produced presentation of each game which will air in December on FSN Detroit, complete with announcers, multiple cameras, graphics and replays.
The cost of the live feed is $7 per match. The video will be archived for free, on-demand viewing beginning Nov. 18.
FSN Detroit will air the matches initially in December, with a Class D-C doubleheader beginning at Noon on Dec. 15; and the Class A and B finales running back-to-back beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 22., with the debut of the Fall edition of MHSAA Magazine airing that day at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The MHSAA Football Playoff Finals at Ford Field in Detroit, Nov. 23-24, will be televised live by FSN Detroit. The first seven contests of the weekend will be shown on FSN Primary, while the final game of the series – the Division 3 game at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 – will be shown live on FSN Plus, which is also available on cable systems across the state. The Division 3 game will also receive an encore presentation on Nov. 25 on FSN Primary at 10 a.m.
Additional replays of all football title games will take place in December and January at dates and times to be determined. Consult your local listings for additional information.
Audio of the Football Playoff Finals will again be available at All eight championship games will be streamed live, and student announcers from around the state will also provide a separate broadcast.
All of the action will also be archived for on-demand listening. The students involved in the broadcasts all participated in the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association Conference in Lansing last month.
The MHSAA Internet Broadcast Network is powered by Last year, the MHSAA Internet Broadcast Network originated 83 championship games – over 175 hours of content – in the following sports: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball and volleyball. Over 50,000 listeners clicked in to the different broadcasts.
In addition to its telecasts of the MHSAA Football Playoff Finals Boys and the Selection Sunday Show to announce the football playoff field in October, and the MHSAA-produced telecast of the Girls Volleyball Finals; FSN Detroit will also air the Final games of the Girls and Boys Basketball Tournaments in March; and the MHSAA Magazine program, which recaps championship activity following the Fall, Winter and Spring sports seasons.
