Bobcats finish seventh at Hopkins tournament

HOPKINS – The Brandywine varsity volleyball team finished seventh at the Hopkins Invitational on Saturday.
"It was nice to see some teams we don't see very often," Brandywine coach Sara Eaton said. "It was a long day and the girls were able to learn from the games and make some key adjustments. Our setter, Emily Low did a great job. Sam Low has also stepped up as our new libero and is going well defensively. Jenna Harris was our best hitter of the day.
Emily Low finished with 173 sets and eight kills.
Katie Smallwood had 18 kills, 11 blocks, 20 digs and six aces for the Lady Bobcats, who also got 23 kills, 52 digs and three aces from Harris.
Sam Low finished the tournament with 50 digs.
Julie Barnett and Lauren Leonard both had five kills. Leonard also had a block and three aces. Barnett finished with 28 digs.
Ashley Light contributed two kills, a block and 10 aces.
