BUCHANAN – The suspicious vehicle seen near the Moccasin Elementary School in Buchanan on Friday has been identified as belonging to two youths promoting a church event.
The vehicle was located and the young adults were interviewed, according to Buchanan Police Chief William Marx.
They were out in the community promoting a youth event with flyers, which was to be held that evening at Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle Church in Buchanan.
The two told officers they were around the elementary school Friday afternoon as the program was offered to those between 10 and 13 years old.
They also told police they had spoken to some teachers at different schools, but had not alerted the school officials regarding their promotion.
A green vehicle was spotted by Officer Carmen Bovo on Tuesday near Fourth and Moccasin streets in which were two well dressed young men, similar to the ones described in the suspicious vehicle seen on Friday. The original vehicle was a friend's car and was gold with a black wind guard on the front. The police department is satisfied that the two well intentioned young adults are the ones who caused the police, parents and school officials some real concern on Friday.
