Buchanan cross country teams sweep Bobcats

BUCHANAN – Buchanan's boys' and girls' cross country teams defeated Brandywine in a Lakeland conference meet on Monday.
The Lady Bucks won the girls' meet 15-49 while the Bucks boy's team won 19-39.
Buchanan's Torrie Eger was the overall girls' winner with a time of 17:44.
Elizabeth Hein was second (19:11), Alyssa Kruchkow was third (19:25), Allie Hemphill fourth (20:35), Liz Reith fifth (21:15), Courtney Adolph sixth (21:20), Ashley Harrell (Brandywine) seventh (21:36), Chelsea Adolph eighth (21:37), Ashley Best ninth (22:56), Nicole Newman (Brandywine) 10th (24:12), Jordan Ferenczi (Brandywine) 11th (24:55), Kristina Lemon 12th (26:40), Kacie Lemon 13th (28:16), and Mary Siemon 14th at 29:30.
Buchanan's Jon Borr won the boys' race at 15:38.
Brandywine's Tyler Weedon was second in 16:09. Buchanan's Rick Reith took third in 17:09, Jon Young was fourth (17:22), John Kuntz fifth (17:26), Josh Tidey sixth (18:17), Aaron Saiting (Brandywine) seventh (18:21), Allan Morse eighth (19:51), Tom Buzzard (Brandywine) ninth (21:02), and David Dykema (Brandywine) was 10th in 21:43.
Coach Bruce Hipshear was pleased with the team's performance.
"We ran strong and placed well today" said Hipshear, "there is a problem with the length of the course and we will look into it."
