Be sure to attend the 35th Annual Apple Festival

One of the most anticipated events of the year is only days away.
The 35th annual Apple festival will officially get under way Thursday, as festival-goers young and old alike will flock to the festival grounds for a night of great food, games and fun rides.
On Friday, a number of different events will be held during the day, as well as entertainment at night.
From 3 to 8 p.m., the entries for the scarecrow contest will take place. The Beard and Mustache Contest will take place at 7 p.m. and the Beer Tent will be open from 4 p.m. to midnight.
Also at 7 p.m., a country legendary tribute to Dolly and Kenny will take place in the main tent. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9 p.m.
On Saturday, get your day started early with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m.
Everyone loves the arts and crafts and this year is sure to offer some unique items – like home made candles, dip mixes, soups, clothing, jewelry, paintings and a number of holiday decorations. Arts and crafts will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The 35th annual Apple Festival Grande Parade will be held at 1:30 p.m. and is sure to feature some amazing floats, costumes and candy.
The YMCA Senior Citizens Dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Niles Buchanan YMCA.
New Odyssey will perform on Saturday night at 8:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Fireworks will again take place at approximately 9 p.m.
Sunday will feature the Eighth Annual Apple Festival Custom Car Show
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the National Standard Grounds. This is free to all spectators.
Arts and crafts will again take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The 18th annual Lip Sync Contest will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at the main tent. Pre-registration for this was required.
