NILES – Early Friday morning a serious two-car injury accident occurred on Niles-Buchanan Road, near Holmes in Niles Township, according to the Berrien County Sheriff's Department.
At 6:50 a.m. Berrien County Road Patrol arrived at the scene and found a Chevy truck on its top with the driver of the pickup sitting on the ground next to the vehicle.
Niles Fire Department was called to the scene and had to cut the female driver out of the other vehicle involved in the accident.
The accident occurred when the driver of the pickup had a unknown medical diabetic reaction that caused him to cross the center line into oncoming traffic.
Both parties involved were taken by SMCAS to the hospital for further medical treatment.
No other information was available at press time.
