BROOKLYN – What began late Saturday afternoon as a few sprinkles turned into a monsoon Saturday night and continued right on through Sunday forcing the postponement of the 3M Performance 400.
The Michigan International Speedway and NASCAR finally called the event just before 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Rain, so hard you could barely see across the race track from pit lane to the stands, let up and came to a stop early in the afternoon.
The track officials began the drying process, but when more hard rain came and the forecast called for showers to continue, the race was moved until Monday.
Rain continues in the forecast for today, but the race was scheduled to begin at noon.
