DOWAGIAC- Clarence Grimm of Niles was the men's 5K walk winner as he posted a time of 26:01 in the 33rd annual Steve's Run on Saturday.
Jerry Fergason of Mishawaka, Ind. was second in 33:02, while Jack Rademaker of Floral City, Fla. finished third.
Rounding out the top five were Rich Brychta of New Buffalo and William Deaton of Benton Harbor.
Dowagiac's Craig Wiker, Philip Allen, Frank Petriko and Michael Shields finished sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth.
Shields' finish also helped him win the father/daughter title for the 5K walk with daughter Brianne Dettart. The two combined for a time of 43:21.
Dowagiac's Gladis Smith and Valerie Warner won the mother/daughter award with a time 43:40.
Steve's Team, the Class of 1986, won both the 5K and 10K category for fastest teams.
The Class of 1986 included the late Steve Breigel, who whom the race is named.
Lindsay Heidenreich and Nancy Northrop of Dowagiac finished first and second in Steve's Run in the 5K women's walk.
Heidenreich finished with a time of 31:54, while Northrop crossed the finish line in 35:07.
Nancy Nelson of Benton Harbor was third with Julie Koch of St. Joseph and Marcie Needles of Lawrence finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
Niles' Pamela Behm finished eighth with a time of 39:21.
