NILES – The Niles High School varsity cheer team took first place overall and qualified for the national meet at the National Cheerleaders Association camp held at Valparaiso University recently.
All the members of the squad were nominated for All-American honors. Six girls tried out and three were awarded All-American status.
They were Katie Kalowicz, Beth Cawby and Stephanie Watson. Watson was named top cheerleader at the camp.
The team is coached by Katie Parquette.
