Niles R.A.P. eliminated from Blossomland tournament

NILES _ There was one upset in the opening round of the Blossomland Cup Tournament, which began on Sunday.
Sixth seeded Dura Mold knocked off the No. 3 seed Whirlpool United, 2-1.
Top seeded Real Dowagiac edged Niles R.A.P,. 2-1 at Southwestern Michigan College, while the second seed St. Joe Kickers blanked St. Stephens Villains, 4-0.
In the other first round match, P&R FC blanked Whilpool United ,2-0.
Thursday's semifinals will have Real Dowagiac hosting Dura Mold at 6:30 p.m. In the other semifinal, the Kickers will host P&R FC at 6:30 p.m.
The Blossomland Cup consolation and finals will be held at the Kickers Club on Sunday, July 29.
The consolation match is set for 1 p.m. and the championship match for 3 p.m.

Ismael Hernandez and Rodolfo Hernandez both scored as Real Dowagiac advanced to the semifinals.
Colin Smith had the lone goal for Niles, which finishes the year at 4-7-1.

At the Kickers Club in Arden, Dowagiac's Tony Black, Jason Girvan, Andrew Pyzik and Jay Fettig all scored for St. Joe.
The Villains bow out of the tournament with a 4-7-1 record.

Adam Hess and Sean Todman scored for Dura Mold in the tournament's first upset.
Martin Hernandez scored for the United, who finish with a 9-2-1 record.

Casey Janick scored both goals for P&R FC as it advanced to the semifinals.
Whirlpool United finish with a 7-4-1 overall record.
