Yanks win championship

NILES – The Niles F.O.P. Little League wrapped up the 2007 season with its World Series and closing ceremonies.
The Yankees capped off a terrific season by defeating the Orioles 11-1 to win the championship.
The Yankees also won the regular season title with a 14-4 record. The Yankees' only losses came at the hands of District 15 interleague competition.
The closing ceremonies followed the title game and special awards were given to the following individuals:

Most Valuable Player

Special recognition and thanks was given to the regular season umpires – Kenneth Ray (head umpire), Paul Walls and Tim Phillips. Recognition and thanks was also given to concession stand and field maintenance chairmen Jody and Joe Covyeou.
