Senior Olympics registration deadline July 6

ROCHESTER – Michigan Senior Olympics (MSO) is calling all athletes to register for the 28th annual Summer Games. This year's games will take place in Oakland County Aug. 6 through Aug. 12, and is open to those 50 years or older by the start of the games.
The registration deadline is fast approaching, with a cut-off date for athletic participants of July 6, 2007.
Since 1979 in the Pontiac Silverdome, more than 25,000 Michiganders 50 and older have competed in the statewide event. More than 2,000 contestants from across Michigan are expected to participate this year.
Those interested in participating in the Summer Games can find registration information by visiting www.MichiganSeniorOlympics.org or by calling (248) 608-0250 or toll free (800) 400-8161. Registration forms must be received by July 6, 2007.
Athletic events include sports such as 3-on-3 basketball, swimming, track and field, triathlon and tennis, while ribbon events include a myriad of activities from ballroom dancing to bocce ball to arts &crafts. Altogether there are 18 medal events and 16 ribbon events.

Participants who qualify during this year's games are invited to participate in the National Senior Games in 2008.
