NILES – Three Buchanan athletes have been honored for their outstanding performances on the court last week.
Buchanan's Jayme O'Bryant, Marquis Hall and Derek Anglero have been chosen as the Niles Daily Star Athletes of the Week for Jan. 29 to Feb. 2.
Jayme O'Bryant, member of the Bucks' varsity volleyball squad, got her team rolling in the final game of last week's contest against Brandywine. O'Bryant served up five consecutive points, including a pair of aces for a 6-0 lead. Teammate setter Emily Ross finished off the Bobcats with a kill and an exciting league win. O'Bryant had eight kills, 23 digs and six aces in the game.
Hall and Anglero combined for 43 of Buchanan's 62 points in Friday's game against Coloma. Anglero meshed 22, while Hall picked up 21. The Bucks claimed a 62-50 conference win.
