Dowagiac police nab man for damaging ice

DOWAGIAC – Chief Tom Atkinson reported that on Sunday, Feb. 4, at around 2:29 a.m., the Dowagiac Police Department arrested a subject for allegedly damaging an ice sculpture in the downtown area.
A police officer and multiple witnesses were in the area of the 200 block of S. Front Street when a male knocked over an ice sculpture.
The adult male was placed under arrest for malicious destruction of property.
After taking the man into custody police discovered around 6.6 grams of suspected marijuana on the arrested suspect.
The suspect was also charged with marijuana possession.
He was lodged at Cass County Jail on both charges.
