NILES – Niles' varsity basketball team fell to Mishawaka Penn Saturday evening, 50-35.
Despite the loss, head coach Todd Pawielski said his team played a good game and put on one of the best performances it had in three weeks.
Leading the way for the Vikes was Danny Rodts, who ended the night with 20 points and five rebounds. Mat Peters ended with eight rebounds.
"Danny played a great game for us and Mat's defense was tremendous," Pawielski said.
Damian Bryant had six points, while Jordan Parks added five points and three assists.
Niles, now 5-9 overall, will head to Battle Creek Central on Tuesday and Mattawan on Friday. Both games are set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
