NILES – District pairings have been announced for the 2006-2007 winter sports season.
Buchanan is the only area school holding a district tournament this season, which will begin Feb. 27 and end March 3. The Bucks' volleyball team will host Brandywine, Bridgman, Eau Claire, River Valley and Watervliet for the Class C tournament.
Niles will head to Portage Northern to meet with Benton Harbor, Kalamazoo Central, Loy Norrix, Mattawan, Portage Central and host Portage Northern in the Class A tournament.
In boys basketball, Buchanan and Brandywine will head to Watervliet for the Class C tournament, which will also feature Bridgman, Eau Claire, River Valley and Watervliet. The basketball districts begin March 5 and will conclude March 10.
The Vikings will head to Portage Northern, where they will meet with Kalamazoo Central, Loy Norrix, Mattawan, Portage Central and Portage Northern.
Wrestling districts begin Feb. 17, when Brandywine will head to Covert and Buchanan will travel to Centreville.
