Niles man arrested on drug charges

NILES – A Niles man was arrested on Jan. 4 following a four-month investigation by the Niles Police Department and the Berrien County Sheriff's Department into illegal narcotics sales, according to a release from Niles Police Chief Ric Huff.
Keith Dwayne Johnson, 47, of 902 Michigan St., Lot 19 in Niles, was arrested for illegal possession of prescription medication, possession of marijuana and a four count felony warrant for incidents which took place during the investigation.
Officers initially went to Johnson's residence on Sept. 5, 2006, acting on a tip about his suspected narcotics sales and at the time seizing confiscated marijuana, cocaine and prescription pills.
The charges on the warrant included possession of cocaine and oxycodone with the intent to deliver, second offense, maintaining a drug house, second offense, and possession of marijuana, second offense.
Johnson is being held in the Berrien County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
