NILES – The Bridgman Co-Op swimming team placed 14th overall at the annual Cereal Bowl Relays, hosted by Battle Creek Central.
Forest Hills Northern won the meet, while Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice was second.
Placing on the day were Austin Dykstra, Sam McClain, Chris Simpson and Cody Hartzler, who took 13th in the 200-yard Backstroke Relay with a time of 2:33.19.
In the 400-yard Free Relay, Ty Alexander, Alex Ottusch, Cory Schiller and Matt Bizoe took eighth with a time of 3:49.43.
Luke Andresen, Patrick Russell, Sam McClain and Eric Nelson took 11th in the 400-yard IM Relay with a time of 4:48.05.
Finishing with a time of 2:14.73 in the 200-yard Backstroke Relay were Eric Nelson, Luke Andresen, Adam Galaske and Patrick Russell.
In the 200-yard Medley, Matt Bizoe, Ty Alexander, Alex Ottusch and Phillip Beltz placed sixth with a time of 1:57.44.
Placing 11th in the 200-yard Free Relay was Scotty Palenske, John Backus, Travis Zelmer and Cody Hartzler with a time of 2:00.44.
The Bridgman Co-Op swimming and diving team is made up of students from Bridgman, Buchanan, Lakeshore and Niles High Schools. The Co-Op team will travel to Kalamazoo Loy Norrix on Tuesday, Dec. 19 for a 6 p.m. Big 16 Interdivisional dual meet with the Knights.
