Golfers wrap up busy week

The Dowagiac varsity golf team wrapped up a busy first week of the season on Wednesday by taking part in the Gull Lake Invitational.
South Haven tied with Holland Christian for first place.
Dowagiac finished with a score of 352.
Kevin Proshwitz led Dowagiac with a fine round of 78. The Chieftains also got an 80 from Nick Krizinski.
Richie Hutchinson finished with a 90, while Tanner Melvin shot 91. Mike Hoff finished with a 96.
Dowagiac will now prepare for its Wolverine Conference opener on Monday. The Chieftains will host the season-opening jamboree at Hampshire Country Club beginning at 9 a.m.
The junior varsity squad will also be in action on Monday as it hosts the league at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course. That jamboree will also begin at 9 a.m.
