Vikes breeze by Comets

NILES - It was a doubleheader sweep for the Niles softball team Wednesday evening in Coloma.
The Vikings wrapped up regular season play with a 13-0 and 7-0 win over the Comets, who are hosting this year's district tournament.
Jenna Ignowski got the shut out win in both games, throwing a combined 13 strikeouts and allowing just two walks.
Top hitters in both games were Nellie Coquillard with two triples, a double, single and three RBIs. Nicole Ignowski had a double, five singles and two RBIs. Karly Kennedy had a double and a single. Kayla Gross had three singles and three RBIs and Stephanee Scharder, Cricket Fisher, Erica Gordon and Lindsay Carey all added singles.
Niles will face St. Joseph at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Coloma.
The winner advances to the finals, which are being held at 2 p.m.
