Bucks breeze by Michigan Lutheran

NILES - It was an easy night for the Buchanan varsity softball team as the Bucks breezed by Michigan Lutheran in a pair of non-conference games.
Buchanan took a 19-0 win in just three innings in the first game and went on to win 13-0 in five innings in the nightcap.
Maggie Ernsberger hit her seventh home run of the season in the first game with a two-run home run in the first inning.
Other top hitters were Jayme O'Bryant and Ashley Pointer with doubles, and Emily Ross added two singles.
Pointer picked up the pitching win in the opening game, throwing six strikeouts and allowing just three hits. Pointer is now 19-5 on the season. Erika Scheffler suffered the loss.
In the second game, O'Bryant (5-2) took the win in the circle for Buchanan, throwing seven strikeouts and allowing just two hits. O'Bryant also had a double and a single at the plate. Ross was the other top hitter for the Bucks with three singles.
Buchanan is back in action on Wednesday when it travels to New Buffalo. Game time is 4:15 p.m.
