Abby Habicht named All-MAC in softball

Abby Habicht, a 2002 graduate of Edwardsburg High School, was recently named to the All-Conference first team for softball in the Mid-American Conference.
Habicht, a senior Communication Disorders major at Bowling Green State University, landed the spot as the top catcher in the conference for 2006, batting .369 in league play, good for eighth place among all players on the twelve conference teams. She belted 5 doubles, and 3 home runs in conference play, including a game winning, 12th inning grand slam against Northern Illinois on May 7.
Defensively, Habicht had a fielding percentage of .994, committing only one fielding error.
In her four-year college career, Habicht started 215 games, good for second among all players in the program's history, and served as the team's catcher for the last three years, a total of 165 games, ranking her first in career starts as a catcher for Bowling Green.
