NILES - The Lakeland Athletic Conference held its conference tournament on Friday, which was hosted by Buchanan High School.
The tournament was scheduled to take place at Leeper Park in South Bend, Ind., but was moved indoors due to weather conditions.
No. 1 and 2 singles and doubles players played at the South Bend Racquet Club, while No. 3 and 4 singles and doubles players were at Lakeland Athletic Club in Niles.
No official results were available at press deadline, but Buchanan's No. 3 singles team of juniors Andrew Frederick and Sean Thornton won their match for the Bucks. The duo has had a very successful season so far, as they hold a 19-1 record. Their only loss came at a tournament earlier this season.
Brandywine's No. 3 singles player Billy McDonald, a top seed in the tournament, had won his match as well as No. 4 singles player Tyler Espick. All other Brandywine players had lost their first matches.
Full results from the tournament will be posted in Monday's Daily Star.
