NILES - The All-Star Junior Golf Tour, sponsored by Nike, made a stop at the Warren Golf Course at the University of Notre Dame on April 8 and 9 for the 2006 Irish Jr. Classic.
Chris Noble took first place with overall low rounds of 77 and 78. Second place went to Orlando Merced of Granger, Ind. with rounds of 86 and 78.
Noble said that he met Merced last year at his first All-Star Jr. Golf Tournament and since then the two have become regular golfing partners and great friends.
With this first place finish, Noble has automatically qualified for the national finals at the Westin Innisbrook in Palm Harbor, Fla. July 12-14.
