Governor to make noon stop in Niles

NILES - The Berrien County Democratic Party will welcome Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm to Niles this Saturday.
Representatives from the local group have said Granholm is scheduled to appear at the Niles American Legion located at 1707 Miller Drive at around noon.
Liz Boyd from the governor's office said Granholm is expected to deliver approximately a 30 minute speech regarding her economic plan for the state.
The Berrien County Democratic Party is sponsoring the event and the Legion is lending the hall, which has a capacity of 250 people.
Doors will open at 11:45 a.m. with food and beverages available.
Tickets for the event are $5 and can be purchased at the Berrien County Democratic Headquarters at 119 Main St. in Buchanan or by calling the party at (269) 695-7232 or Shelley Thompson at (269) 684-6776.
Granholm is expected to also appear later that afternoon at the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians Tribal Office located at 58620 Sink Road in Dowagiac.
