BUCHANAN - Buchanan High School's drama department will present The Wizard of Oz on tonight and Saturday, March 18 at 8 p.m., and on Sunday, March 19 at the kid-friendly hour of 2 p.m.
Come join a very enthusiastic throng of high school students supported by a cast of area munchkins borrowed from the first and second grade classrooms from around the district for this familiar classic.
The theater production is very similar to the classic movie with songs such as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Merry Old Land of Oz,” and “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead.”
The dedicated cast of more than 40 students and crew are working hard to make this show a truly spectacular event on the Buchanan stage. Following the recent purchase of new sound and lighting equipment, this show is the perfect choice to “take it out and see what it can do,” she added.
The set is one of the most elaborate constructions to date under the guidance of Phil and Megan Place. “The number of hours and the amount of creativity they bring to the Buchanan stage is breath taking,” Cripps said.
Bring the whole family out to enjoy this exciting production.
Advanced tickets are available in the high school office, or by calling 695-8403, or at the door. Tickets are $5 for adults, and $3 for students and senior citizens.
