Community services celebrate Lenten season

NILES - Niles and Buchanan area United Methodist Churches in partnership with Franklin AME Church will be holding Sunday evening Lenten services for the community.
The messages this year are based on Galatians 5:23, the Fruit of the Spirit and will be delivered each week by a different pastor.
The first service was last Sunday evening at Wesley United Methodist Church, 302 Cedar Street, Niles with Pastor Tom Fox speaking on the topic of Love.
On Sunday, March 5, the service will be at Buchanan First United Methodist Church, 132 South Oak, Buchanan and Pastor Emmett Kadwell will speak on Joy.
The third service, Sunday, March 12, will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Grant Street, Niles with Pastor Chris Krunchkow speaking on Peace.
Fourth in the series will be Pastor Tony Tomasino speaking on Patience at Buchanan Faith United Methodist Church, 728 North Detroit, in Buchanan on March 19.
The Franklin AME church will host the fifth service on March 26 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 302 Cedar Street, Niles. Pastor David Meister will speak on Kindness and Gentleness.
On April 2, the service will be held at Portage Prairie United Methodist Church, 2450 Orange Road, Buchanan with Pastor Carl Harrison speaking on the topic Goodness and Self Control.
The final service will be Sunday evening April 9, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 244 Ironwood, Niles, with Pastor Jared Graves speaking on Faithfulness.
Everyone in the Niles/Buchanan Community is welcome to worship at these Sunday evening services. The services begin at 6:30 p.m. with a time of fellowship and light refreshments following
