Bucks grab 63-38 win over Edwardsburg Friday

EDWARDSBURG - What a difference a night makes.
Tuesday, the Bucks couldn't buy a basket in a loss to River Valley. Friday night Buchanan shot over 60 percent from the floor to take a 63-38 Lakeland Conference win at Edwardsburg. For the Bucks it was an all out team effort to get the win that brings there overall record to 9-9 and improves them to 7-5 in the Lakeland.
The Bucks went in at the break with a 29-18 advantage. In the third quarter the Eddies struggled from the field only hitting 1-of-10 and the Bucks defense limited the Eddies to just five points in the quarter.
It was the sophomore duel of Marquis Hall and Avery Brown and junior Damian Bryant that supplied the offense for the Bucks. Hall led the team with 19. His final three points of the game came with one second remaining. Hall tossed the ball from three quarter court and the ball sizzled the net as the buzzer sounded to end the contest.
Brown was hot from outside the arc blistering the nets with four treys and added three field goals for 18 points. Bryant pounded the ball into the paint and scored 14. Senior Jeff Kyles was held scoreless but finished the game with seven assists.
For the Eddies who fall to 2-9 in the LAC and 6-10 overall Tony Hayes finished with 13 points.
Buchanan will host league leading Bridgman next Friday with game time scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
