NILES - The Cedar Lane basketball team dropped a 61-47 decision to Portage Central Alternative Wednesday afternoon, bringing its overall record to 3-4 overall.
With only seven players in attendance, head coach Jim Barnhart said his team simply ran out of gas.
A.J. Fox led the team in scoring with 22 points. Josh Breeding had eight points, Darryl Frazier had seven, Keith McMorris had five, Maggie Wilson had three and Antoine Gray added two points for Cedar Lane.
Cedar Lane will return to the court on Monday when they face New City Alternative. Game time is set for 11:30 a.m. at the New Genesis Center in Kalamazoo.
Correction
In Tuesday's Daily Star, it was reported that Cedar Lane picked up its first win of the season.
The team actually got their first regular season win. They are currently 1-3 in the league, 304 overall.
We regret the error.
