NILES - How special it would be to have someone come and sing to you for Valentine's Day,
Two area groups help support their nonproift orgainzations each year by doing just that.
You can have four men sing an appropriate song for Valentine's Day to your sweetheart as The Michiana Metro Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society is accepting bookings now.
Quartets will be traveling throughout the Michiana area on Monday, Feb. 13 and on Tuesday, Feb. 14, to sing for the woman, or man, of your choice.
The Quartet sings such old favorites as “Heart of My Heart,” “Let Me Call You Sweetheart,” and others. They also present your sweetheart with a flower and a greeting card.
If you have someone to whom you would like to send this special greeting - whether at home, at work, retirement or nursing facility, hospital or convalescent center or at your favorite restaurant, contact Gene Hanover at (269) 465-4428.
The cost for the singing valentine is $55 per greeting ordered. The chapter accepts Visa, Master Card, checks and cash.
Proceeds are used to support ongoing activities of the chapter.
River Bend Chorus
Singing Valentines are also performed by River Bend Chorus.
You can send a Sweet Adeline quartet to sing to your sweetie on this very special day.
Quartets from the River Bend Chapter of Sweet Adelines will be delivering singing Valentines to the place you request on Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the Michiana area.
Your Valentine will receive a song, personalized greeting card and a flower for $30.
Deadline for orders and payment is Friday, Feb. 10.
