BUCHANAN - It was another stellar performance by the Buchanan varsity wrestling team Saturday as they hosted the Super Duals at Buchanan High School.
The Bucks walked away with a perfect 5-0 record and had seven wrestlers finish with 5-0 records.
River Valley followed the Bucks with a 4-1 record for a second place overall finish.
Finishing out the six team field was the Buchanan B team posting a 3-2 record, Comstock 2-3, Benton Harbor 1-4, and Lawton 0-5.
Three Buchanan wrestlers also notched milestone career wins. Senior Travis Reith extended his school best career mark to 150, while senior David Medlin and junior Nick Wheetley each snagged their 100th career victory.
Six Bucks finished the day at 4-0.
Todd Taylor, Tony Taylor, Tyler Mitchell, Jim Connors, and Justin Brown.
The five victories improve the Bucks to 16-2 and have a share of the Lakeland Conference lead at 4-0 tied with Brandywine.
The Bucks will go up against Coloma on Wednesday on the road, followed by the Southwest Michigan Invitational at Lakeshore High School on Saturday, before a Lakeland Conference showdown with the Brandywine on February 1.
Both the Bucks and the Bobcats are undefeated in the LAC.
