COLOMA - The host Coloma Comets outscored Edwardsburg 23-5 in the second quarter on their way to a 59-43 Lakeland Conference victory Tuesday night.
For one half the visiting Eddies (2-4, 0-3 Lakeland Conference) hung with the Comets.
Edwardsburg trailed just 13-11 after one period of play, while the Eddies outscored the Comets 11-9 in the second quarter to tie the score at halftime at 22.
It was all Coloma from there as the Comets grabbed a 45-27 lead heading into the final period.
The Comets also outscored the Eddies in the fourth quarter, 14-13, to take the victory.
The win improved Coloma's record to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in the Lakeland Conference.
Tyler LaVanway of Coloma led all scorers with 21 points.
The Comets also got 10 points from Jeff Gargano and eight points from both Rickey Fischer and Spencer Paulsen.
Edwardsburg was led by Tony Hayes and Adam Hancock with 13 points each.
The Eddies also got 12 points.
